PictureRev. Olga Marie Norman. She and her husband organized the church in 1942
Olga Marie Norman and her husband, G.I. Norman, came into the Lockport Conference of the Wesleyan Methodist Church in 1931. They were from Chicago and were received from the Church of the Nazarene as local preachers. She was ordained at the conference session in 1932.

In 1932 G.I. and Olga were appointed pastors at the Olean, New York church. During their tenure there (1932-1939) a "heaven-sent" revival occurred. They conducted a radio program and had summer tent meetings and other evangelistic meetings. As a result of their labors, the church began to grow. Many were added to the church, and a Sunday School record of two hundred was reached.
The conference records were missing for 1937-1941, but the Normans were appointed pastors at McCrae Brook Mission, located near Eldred, PA in 1942. The mission had been in existence since 1938, but during their pastorate in June 1942, the church was organized.

Olga Marie Norman was a woman of faith in her great God. They lived a distance from the McCrae Brook church, but by faith she would get her five children, George, Daniel, Fred, Della, and Olga Marie dressed and ready for church. They would walk to the end of the lane and wait for a ride to the church where she would preach. Always God answered her prayers, and they would arrive on time. One day a man came to the door of their home and handed her the keys to a car for her to use to get back and forth to the church. In Olean, a businessman gave them a house to live in. Olga related this personal information about her mother's prayer life. She stated that her father was the up-front person and sometimes boisterous. But her mother was the calm quite behind the scenes worker. She added "class" to their work and ministry.

Olga transferred her ministerial standing to the Ohio Conference on May 26, 1943. She and G.I. were appointed pastors of the Dayton Northridge Church in 1943. They pastored that church until 1950, when they were appointed pastors of the Calhoun and Mt. Olive (Six Mile) churches in South Carolina. She also served as her husband's assistant and the Clemson, South Carolina church. She was known as a meticulous housekeeper, but during all the years they pastored she always had time for people, and to her everyone was special. She was a real "people person."

They returned to the Ohio Conference in July 1954 to become pastors of the Middletown (OH) church. They organized that church on April 9, 1955 with 32 charter members. Four years later in 1959 they resigned and became pastors of an independent work in Greensboro, NC for a short time. In 1960 they transferred to the Allegheny Conference.

After moving into the Allegheny Conference, they pastored churches in Tuscaloosa and Montgomery, Alabama, and did extensive evangelical work. Many of their calls in evangelistic work came from the Bible Methodist Church. G.I. Norman died November 9, 1974. After his death, Olga did not travel much in evangelical work. She did pastor a church in Alabama and the church dedicated during her ministry there. Olga Marie Norman entered her heavenly home July, 29, 1997
